ACQ Global Awards Sherrards St Albans City of ExpertiseIn 2016, Sherrards was awarded ‘UK (London) International Trade Advisory Firm of the Year’ through the ACQ Global Awards – the first time the firm has won such an accolade.

This tops off another great year for the firm, in which the Litigation team was awarded, ‘England – Litigation Law Firm of the Year’ from ACQ Global Awards for the third year in a row, and Paul Marmor was awarded ‘Litigation Lawyer of the Year in England’ by Corporate International Global Awards.

Speaking about Sherrards’ international success, Jean-Paul da Costa, Head of the Corporate team, says: “We are putting a great deal of stock on the international aspect of our practice, and receiving this award for our international work is thrilling. Our key international hires this year have really made a difference; French dual-qualified lawyer, Geraldine Fabre, has brought a fabulous French-facing practice to the firm; Marta Grieve (née Khomyak) joined in the Summer to lead our Russia group, with a background working for some of Moscow’s leading practices; Asha Ngai recently joined to head up our international residential property team, with a specialism in acting for investors in the Middle East, and with Laurel (Xueying) Zhang spearheading some incredible inroads into China, the world is becoming a much smaller place for our clients.”

Paul Marmor, International Services partner and Head of Litigation, adds: “Our international practice is running through all aspects of the firm, touching all parts of the business.  We continue to support the World Bank’s ‘Doing Business’ project, and our membership of the Alliott Group international alliance provides access to lawyers, accountants and professionals at a moment’s notice, in just about every commercial centre worth talking about.  We have joined the Commonwealth Trade Initiative platform, giving us access to businesses across the Commonwealth, and we have been working ever more closely with the UK government’s Department for International Trade. It was an honour to be featured as a case study in their ‘Selling financial, professional and business services overseas’ brochure and to appear on the government’s DIT website.”
