Neves Solicitors St Albans and HarpendenNeves Solicitors is expanding their family department with the appointment of solicitor Olivia Lowen who will be based at their Harpenden and Luton offices.

Olivia is a newly qualified solicitor but has been with Neves Solicitors since 2014 and completed her training with Neves. Olivia has nearly 7 years’ experience in legal matters, most of which has been practical, hands-on experience.

Olivia is working alongside the firm’s Partner and Head of Family Law Mary McEvoy.

Mary says:
“I am delighted that Olivia is joining Neves Solicitors. She is a very accomplished lawyer with the added advantage of displaying great common sense and proportionality. She is sensitive to clients’ needs and is a lovely person. Whilst she has been working with us we have noticed an improvement in our response times to clients’ and a general improvement in the service which we deliver. Olivia is a great asset to our Family Department.”

Olivia started her legal career studying at the University of Sheffield for both her law degree and the LPC, so she was there for 4 years in total (2010-2014) and loved the city!

During university breaks Olivia worked as a “paralegal” in various departments at another local firm as part of teams on both a large litigation project and the refinancing of a substantial property portfolio.
She joined Neves at the end of September 2014 (having just completed her LPC), and began her training contract on 05 January 2015.

Throughout her training contract she completed seats in the firm’s Litigation, Residential Conveyancing and Company-Commercial departments as well as in the Family department.

Olivia had maintained an interest in Family Law during her long training and working in the Family Department confirmed her belief that this was the area she wanted to qualify into. The thorough training meant that Olivia was involved in matters ranging from those relating to children, finance, divorce, pre- and post-nuptial agreements, domestic abuse and enforcement of court orders. Olivia has undertaken a significant amount of advocacy during her training and is a confident court room representative.

Olivia is joining the team in the year that the firm is celebrating its 150th anniversary, having been started by Walter Neve in 1867.

Olivia says;
“I am delighted to have joined the Family team as a solicitor, and am particularly pleased that this means I can continue in employment with Neves which is a lovely firm to work for. I am proud that the team I have joined are not only concerned with providing an efficient, affordable and knowledgeable service to their clients, but also with being active in the local communities of Harpenden, Luton and Milton Keynes where their three offices are situated.”
